BP Headquarters
British Petroleum's facility at Sunbury-on-Thames in England, grew from a single mansion set in farmland to a large array of laboratories, pilot plants, fuel stores, offices and other buildings, surrounded by housing. The phased redevelopment of this enclosed semi-industrial estate to an open business park of high quality offices is a story of environmental transformation through design and construction skills and continuous improvement.
VGI Security Solutions were assigned to resource project and commissioning engineers for the supply and installation of a fibre-optic network infra-structure to BP's main security control centre at their headquarters in Sunbury. This network now enables the monitoring and control of eight new buildings and car park areas. Our project team installed the CCTV system, consisting of over 200 fully functional and static cameras, a local area networked access control system and the intercom system.
In addition, the fibre network infra-structure project facilitated the monitoring of the fire alarm, public address, vehicle barriers and pedestrian turnstiles and speed gates at this vast headquarters site.
