Heathrow Terminal 5

 

Open to the public in 2008, the main building of Heathrow's terminal 5 complex is the largest free-standing structure in the United Kingdom. Terminal 5 is now used as a global gateway exclusively by British Airways. The terminal is designed to handle up to 35 million passengers a year.

 

Heathrow’s new Terminal 5 building contains the largest fire detection, voice alarm and public address system ever to be installed in the UK. Consisting of in excess of 450 networked panels with 28,000 devices, VGI Security Solutions were assigned to resource the commissioning and cause & effects testing of the fire system.
